BACnet IP utilizes a standard UDP/IP stack to send and get messages. Generally, the same packet that would be found on a MS/TP connection is encapsulated in a UDP/IP packet and called BACnet IP. Devices use IP locations and Ethernet MAC addresses like other UDP/IP system devices. There is no understanding of expert/slave token going since Ethernet is naturally parented in nature. Devices essentially transmit to their planned beneficiary voluntarily, and let Ethernet manage packet collisions and retries as required.

BACnet is an open communications protocol for building automation and control networks. The standards are controlled and/or referenced by ASHRAE, BACnet International, ANSI, and ISO.

This driver supports the A.O. Smith Propietary Device Network (PDN) master protocol, which is mainly used in A.O. Smith Boiler products.

The 1747-KE module is a interface that bridges works with DF1 protocol, RS232C devices to DH-485 networks. This give accescibilitiy between a SLC and RS232.

You can send messages betweena DH+ nodes and other networks which include ControlNet, Ethernet, or other DH+ Networks.  A 1756-DHRIO acts as a scanner by using Remote I/O capabilities. The module exchanges discrete and block transfer data within remote i/o devices. This module gives connectivity between numerous remote I/O adapters.
